Republicans believe that gun control laws violate persons' right to bear arms. Anyone, anywhere, should have the right to own a gun. Background checks are supposed to help with gun control yet, prove nothing. Just because someone has went to jail before, doesn't mean that they have bad intentions of using the gun. Society will not become safer by restricting gun ownership as guns don't kill people, people kill people. And in most cases involving firearms or guns, the gun wasn't legally purchased, but obtained illegally. So restricting guns would not make our society as safe as many citizens think. In fact, because there will be restrictions, there will be more people smuggling in illegal guns since many people won't be able to obtain a legal gun due to the restrictions. Many people don't think how putting regulations on guns would affect the economy. Putting regulations would make black market dealers wealthier and have people illegally obtain guns. The companies that produce guns would be making an extremely low amount of money due to them not having to produce as many because of the restrictions. Others that run private businesses selling guns would make a low income. People that make a living on selling guns would potentially become poorer. Peoples' rights should not be messed with, and we can help protect your rights. So next election, vote republican.

What this picture describes is the different opinions Democrats and Republicans have on gun control. What the elephant ( republican ) is saying is " Gun control equals no protection". This is referring to, how gun control laws violate persons' rights to having guns for purposes such as self defense. What the donkey ( democrat ) is saying is that we need gun control laws to prevent guns falling into the wrong hands.
Another thing you learned besides their opinions on gun control, is how two different people can see the world so differently. This picture provides a synopsis for our two political parties, beliefs on topics, and how they differ so greatly.
