Now for the most part, Republicans are against same-sex marriage. We stand behind a traditional type of marriage between one man and one woman. We do not have "hatred" towards homosexuals, but we think that having one man and one female authority figure is a healthier environment for a child. We want America to stick to the rules they followed once before when traditional marriages were the only types of legal marriages. Children with gay parents often have low self esteem. They need a mother and father to be more easily accepted in society. Since gays cannot procreate themselves, they have to adopt, which is a long process. Many gays want kids but don't want to go through the adoption process. Even if same-sex marriage was legalized in all states, gays will never be fully accepted by everyone in our society. America is known as a melting pot, which is full of different religions. And many of those religions don't approve or have any tolerance for gay marriage. So gays will always be treated differently, not equally, and separately. Do you agree with our side? Do you disagree? Well contact us and explain your opinion.

In Virginia on February 14th, Virginia's ban on same-sex marriage was declared unconstitutional by Federal Judge Arenda Wright Allen. This had a long lasting affect because now in Atlanta, GA, more effort has been put in by gay and lesbian couples, to override more bans on same-sex marriage. Georgia and 13 other states with same-sex marriage bans have been targeted by gay and lesbian couples due to those states having a constitutional provision defining marriage between a man and a woman. There have been law suits popping up everywhere challenging those bans. Recent polls show more and more support for gay marriage, yet we, The Republicans, still oppose it.
